Since we’ve opened, we’ve been dedicated to changing the lives of people one person at a time, through martial arts, education and coaching. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for all students and family members. We take pride in creating an environment for individuals to achieve, develop and succeed in their personal goals.
We strongly believe that martial arts can be for everyone, regardless of age, gender or experience levels. Kigen Richard Canton is the Founder and Chief Instructor of Canton Martial Arts.
Kigen started his Martial Arts journey in Australia, training in Tae Kwon Do, Karate and Muay Thai.
He moved to the UK in 1997 to help the expansion of another Karate club.
In 2002, Kigen opened up Canton Martial Arts, and classes have spread across the South East of England.
Canton Martial Arts is an ever evolving and ever changing Martial Arts Academy, and whilst Kigen continues to train around the world, he is constantly evolving the systems that we teach to make them as efficient as possible.
Kigen’s teaching principles are: Technique – Practical – Power.
Kigen’s training principles are: Spirit – Dedication – Fun.
